The Max Weber Programme (MWP) is Europe’s largest postdoctoral programme for young researchers in the social sciences and humanities. It was set up in 2006 by the European University Institute in Florence, where it is also hosted, and is funded by the European Commission (DG Education and Culture).
The MWP is a postdoctoral training programme in the Social and Human Sciences for those who are in the first five years after receiving their doctorate. Each year the Programme appoints 42 fellows from all over the world for 1 or 2 years in the four disciplines of the EUI, Economics, History and Civilization, Law, and Political and Social Sciences.
The aim of the Max Weber Programme is to set standards of excellence in research and academic practice and, in doing so, to become a stepping stone in the early devlopment of a fruitful academic career for the Max Weber Fellows.
The programme is now in it’s seventh year. For more information, visit the homepage of the Max Weber Programme
