Welcome

Welcome to our ‘European Regulatory Private Law’ project website

Welcome to the website of our ‘European Regulatory Private Law’ (‘ERPL’) project. The project’s full title reads as follows ‘European Regulatory Private Law: the Transformation of European Private Law from Autonomy to Functionalism in Competition and Regulation’. Our objective is the study of a normative model, which could shape a self-sufficient European private legal order in its interaction with national private law systems.

Distinguished as research of scientific excellence the project receives funding of more than two million euros through a five-year European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant.

The pioneering project has started on 1 September 2011. Hosted at the European University in Florence, it assembles an international research team under the scientific guidance of the project’s Principal Investigator Prof. Hans – W. Micklitz.

Throughout this site you can learn more about our project in general and our latest research output, as well as upcoming conferences and events.

The research leading to these results has received funding from the European Research Council under the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP/2007–2013) / ERC Grant Agreement n. [269722].
