On Monday, 15 October, the Nobel Committee announced that Alvin E. Roth (Harvard/Stanford) and Lloyd S. Shapley (UCLA) have won the 2012 Economic Sciences Prize “for the theory of stable allocations and the practice of market design.” The press release is on the Nobel Foundation site.
