EUI Library launches access to UN Industrial Development Organisation database
The UN Industrial Statistics Database provides harmonised industrial development statistics for 166 countries from 1963 to 2010 (2013 ed.). From 6 November, UNIDO data is available to EUI members on CD-rom (Library issue desk shelfmark STA-CN-EK) and also online. Access instructions are on the new EUI UNIDO resource page. UNIDO INDSTAT2 industrial data are presented at the 2-digit level of the International Standard Industrial Classification of economic activities (manufacturing sector) comprising 23 industries. Further UN and macroeconomic resources available via the Library Data Portal.
UNIDO provides data by a single classification standard, presenting data for these seven indicators: number of establishments; employment; wages and salaries; output; value added; gross fixed capital formation; number of female employees. “Value figures are presented in current prices. The database includes the index numbers of industrial production, which show the real growth of the volume of production by 2-digit of ISIC Rev.3.”
The 2013 edition of UNIDO INDSTAT2 covers 166 countries.
