Open Economics Principles launched by Open Knowledge Foundation

The Open Knowledge Foundation and partners have issued a Statement on Openness of Economic Data and Code – calling for economic data to be open by default.  The principles were developed by the Foundation and participants in two Open Economics workshops: Cambridge University (December 2012) and MIT (June 2013).  “For economics to function effectively, and for society to reap the full benefits from economic research, it is therefore essential that economic research results, data and analysis be openly and freely available, wherever possible.”  The full statement is on this Open Economics page.
