Princeton Professor Angus Deaton Awarded 2015 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences

Prof. Angus Deaton of Princeton University´s School of Public and International Affairs is the 2015 Nobel Prize Laureate in Economics (Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel). The announcement from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences on 12 October read: “To design economic policy that promotes welfare and reduces poverty, we must first understand individual consumption choices. More than anyone else, Angus Deaton has enhanced this understanding. By linking detailed individual choices and aggregate outcomes, his research has helped transform the fields of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and development economics.” The Prize will be awarded on 10 December 2015.
