2016 wave of Cross-National Time-Series economic historical data released on 16 May

EUI members now have access to the 2016 release of DataBanks International Cross-National Time-Series macro-economic historical database, which was released on 16 May. The Cross-National Time-Series database provides internationally comparative variables, including government expenditure, population, territorial size, GDP per capita, trade, infrastructure, conflict events, political measures and international status indicators. Data for over 200 countries is provided from 1815 onwards. The CNTS variables are described on this page. The publisher also provides an events dataset (2011-2015) with links to details of news sources for international events. Full details of how to access CNTS are on this EUI Library page.

Cross-National Time-Series data now online

EUI members now have upgraded access to the new online version of CNTS. The Cross-National Time-Series database provides internationally-comparative economic and political variables, including government expenditure, population, territorial size, per capita GDP, trade, infrastructure, conflict events, elections, legislative process and international status indicators. Data for 200 countries is provided from 1815 onwards. The 2014 release contains ‘Links’ files – bridging to media sources for major international events. Full details.

2014 Release of Historical Cross National Time Series data, with new event log links

The 2014 release of the Databanks International Cross National Time Series database (1815-2013) is now available to EUI members. Due to the inclusion of new supporting materials – and media source links – the dossier structure has been updated as follows: (i) Core data, codebook and historical tabulation file of independent states (ii) User’s manual and bibliography and (iii) Source links/event log. The Cross-National Time-Series database provides worldwide historical variables on government type, conflict events, expenditure, population, territorial size, per capita GDP, trade, infrastructure, elections, legislative process, political measures and international status indicators.
