ICPSR data service and Elsevier journals launch cross-linking between articles and datasets

The Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR, Michigan) and journals publisher Elsevier, announced a new article-to-data cross-linking project on 9 February. “Over 400 Elsevier journals will offer direct linking options with datasets in ICPSR. These behavioral and social science datasets become discoverable through corresponding research articles on ScienceDirect… Vice versa, research articles on ScienceDirect can also be accessed directly from within the ICPSR datasets.” The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) data archive is a large-scale, multi-disciplinary repository hosted at the University of Michigan since 1962.

The Twitter account @FakeElsevier informs about initiative worldwide against the costs that libraries have to sustain for subscribing to Elsevier journals.
