Webcasts of Festival Economia from Trento: 2-5 June

The 2016 Festival Economia took place in Trento from 2 to 5 June. Nobel economists, policymakers, central bankers, publishers and journalists discussed economic trends and presented new academic research on the theme ‘Where Growth Takes Place’ – ‘I luoghi della crescita’ – focusing on geographical aspects of economic development. Nobel Prize Lecture by Jean Tirole: ‘Market Failures and Public Policy’

The 2014 Economics Nobel lecture was given by Professor Jean Tirole in Stockholm on 8 December. Professor Tirole, chairman of the Fondation Jean-Jacques Laffont at the Toulouse School of Economics and scientific director of the Institut d’Economie Industrielle (IDEI), spoke on ‘Market Failures and Public Policy.’ The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel was awarded to Jean Tirole “for his analysis of market power and regulation.” Full details and video.

Nobel peace prize goes to… Europeans

2012 prize will be presented in Oslo on 10 December recognising EU’s role in advancing stability and reconciliation in Europe. European Union awarded Nobel Peace Prize: reactions of EUI President and Professors
