Open Access Week @ EUI

The main event of the EUI OA week is the roundtable on Open Access Publishing: rethinking Impact and dissemination. The roundtable takes place at the Badia (MWP room) on Tuesday 22 October, 14.00-17.00.
The first session will concentrate on the Open Access from the perspective of an institutional publisher. Toby Green, head of the OECD’s publishing division, will focus on how the OECD model combines sustainability with an extensive degree of free access for individuals. The second part will look at how an open and transparent system of peer review can improve the quality of scientific publications and overcome some defects of the widely accepted system of anonymous peer reviewing. Pandelis Perakakis, Co-founder, Open Scholar, will talk about the new platform LIBRE. A long coffee break will give participants the chance to exchange ideas with the speakers and each other.

Other events – presentations, information desk and thematic questions and answers-sessions – are organised from Monday to Thursday at the EUI. For details, read this post.
