50th EUI Research Dataset Added to the Research Data Collection in Cadmus

On the 6th of July, the 50th EUI research dataset was added to the multi-disciplinary Research Data Collection in the Cadmus repository. The EUI Research Data Collection is an infrastructure for the preservation of EUI research data outputs; a platform for sharing research data; and a solution for funder-mandated research data management compliance (eg. EU Horizon Europe / ERC).  To submit a dataset for reposit – please complete this online form. The EUI Library offers specialist support regarding (i) data protection (ii) database copyright and (iii) advice on metadata, file-naming, format, structure, and whether data should be archived under embargo, or made available as open data.  An overview of EUI research data support is in the 2022 Library Research Data Guide. Only EUI-generated datasets can be included in the EUI Research Data Collection. [ctd.]

The New EUI Data Repository: a solution for archiving and sharing research data

The new EUI ResData repository was launched at the Library’s open access roundtable in October 2017 and already hosts twelve substantial EUI research datasets. ResData provides EUI scholars with a sustainable solution for archiving research datasets, and supports the European Union’s mandate that – where possible – research data outputs be openly shared. Open data – a key pillar of open science – refers to the trend among scholars, government agencies and international organisations to share datasets, codebooks and software via the internet.

10 Datasets now available in Library ResData repository for preserving and sharing EUI research data outputs

The Library has completed the beta test phase of the new ResData repository infrastructure. Ten EUI-generated datasets are now available for open data sharing. There are over 50 sub-sets. EUI members from all departments and centres are encouraged to submit research data outputs for preservation in the multi-disciplinary ResData repository. The new repository is compliant with the open data mandates of EU Horizon 2020 and other international science funding programmes. The EUI Library offers specialist advice regarding the preparation of data for reposit, data protection and data copyright – which helps EUI members determine if, and when, their data is suitable for open data sharing with, or without, embargo.

The new EUI ResData repository for sharing and archiving EUI research data outputs

EUI members can now submit their research datasets for inclusion in the EUI ResData repository – a solution for sharing and archiving EUI research data outputs. Library staff provide advice on dataset tagging (metadata), formats, structure and whether data should be archived under embargo, or made available as open data. The first step is to complete the online form – providing details about the dataset for reposit. The Library will then make an appointment for data transfer. Full details.

New Library Video and Welcome Page for Economists and Users of Statistical Data

The new Economics & Data Collections’ YouTube Video is now live. Special thanks to Federica Signoriello. Viewing time is 2.5 minutes. The text – with links to the resources highlighted – is further below. The Library has also launched a Welcome page for new EUI economists and new EUI users of statistical data, with a list of presentations in August and September. We look forward to welcoming all new Researchers and Fellows to the EUI. Benvenuti alla Biblioteca dell’Istituto universitario europeo!
