Changes at the top of the Max Weber Programme

karin - CopyKarin Tilmans will be Acting Director of the Max Weber Programme this term. Karin is well known to the MWP and the EUI community having been a Visiting Fellow at HEC and the Coordinator of the Programme for years.  She will lead  the Programme untill the new Director Richard Bellamy will take up his post in May.


richard_black and white (2)Richard is currently a Visiting Professor at the EUI, and will take up the Directorship of the Max Weber Programme  on exceptional leave from his position as Professor of Political Science at University College, London (UCL). He was educated at the University of Cambridge, graduating with a First in History, and at the European University Institute in Florence, where he was a PhD student in SPS. After three years as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford he went on to lectureships at Cambridge and Edinburgh and then to Chairs at the Universities of East Anglia, Reading,  Essex and UCL. At UCL he was the founding Head of the new Department of Political Science and Director of the School of Public Policy from 2005- 2010 and of UCL’s European Institute, which he established, from 2010-13.
