The MWP celebrates Thomas Sargent
A- A A+
The Max Weber Programme celebrates one of our Max Weber Lecturers, and EUI Honorary Doctorate (both 2008), Thomas Sargent, who was awarded the 2011 Nobel Prize of Economics.
Professors Thomas Sargent and Christopher Sims won the Nobel Prize for research that sheds light on the cause-and-effect relationship between the economy and policy instruments such as interest rates and government spending.
Sargent will be returning to the European University Institute later this year as a Fernand Braudel Fellow at the Economics Department.
