Donation to the Red Cross in Poland

A- A A+

Thanks to many members of the EUI community the amazing sum of 3550 EUR was collected through the researcher-led EUI Ukraine Solidarity Initiative. These donations have been transferred to the Red Cross in Poland and support their humanitarian and emergency activities in the border region. Among the main activities of the Red Cross during the weeks passed are the deployment of humanitarian first aiders at the focal points in the Subcarpathian border region. They provide food, water, tea, blankets, sanitary items (etc.) to people fleeing from the Russian aggression and maintain tends where vulnerable persons can rest before heading on to the reception centres. Moreover, the Red Cross has placed medical personnel (including accident and emergency departments) at all border crossings and in all reception centres in the region. In addition, mobile protection units visit main localities to help identify vulnerable individuals, give immediate aid and monitor and prevent the risk of human trafficking activities. The Red Cross is also undertaking a campaign against human trafficking which includes information stalls in different places.

Thank you all for your swift and generous support!
