On 8 March 2019

Meet & Discuss Session

During this session, we aim at discussing two recent readings dealing with the use of visual source in history. Starting from them, we will raise some questions about the use of visual sources and we will open up a more informal discussion about the different ways of using visual sources, the questions and the problems that we encounter in conducting our researches.

The proposed essays are:

Gil Bartholeys, “History of Visual Culture” in Peter Burke and Marek Tamm (eds.), Bloomsbury Academic, 2019

Paul Gerhard, “Visual History”, 2011 available here.
