Nora Gresch

Nora GreschNora Gresch studied sociology and is a PhD candidate at the Department of Political Science, University of Vienna. Her research interests concern citizenship studies, body studies and gender and politics. She recently published ‘Topographies of gender democracy in Austria’ (with Birgit Sauer) in Yvonne Galligan (ed) States of Democracy. Gender and politics in the European Union, Routledge, 2015. She is also a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Feminist Formations (Johns Hopkins University Press) and did research within a variety of art and research projects, including:

  • “VEIL. Values, Equality and Differences in Liberal Democracies. Debates about Muslim Headscarves in Europe” (2006 – 2009) funded by the EU- Commission (6th Framework Programme) coordinated by the University of Vienna (Sauer, Rosenberger), Austria;
  • “Changing Identities of Ethnic Minority Groups – the Comparative Study of Autochthonous and Immigrant Groups in Austria, Croatia, Kosovo, Slovenia and Serbia” (2010 – 2011) funded by the Austrian Science and Research Liason Office (Networking Project), coordinated by the University of Primorska, Slovenia;
  • “Rebranding European Muslims” (2012) art project of the “steirischer herbst” (Concept: Public Movement), Graz, Austria
